Bay Breeze Labradors is very proud to introduce our newest addition. "Wishes," also known as "Princess" was the first born from our Cooper x Rush litter. She was what people call a "swimmer puppy," in that her front and back legs were out to the side, and she was not able to hold herself up. We tried many things to help her, but nothing seemed to do the trick. If you have read Bear's story, you know what a hard road he had in the beginning. Well, although Bear looked like a swimmer, he really wasn't. His problem was that his front legs were not in their sockets. Once he was placed in the makeshift PVC saddle, and the physical therapy was done, he started walking. Well, to make sure that Wishes wasn't experiencing the same thing, we had x-rays done just to be certain that everything was where it should be. Well. it was. So, now the plan turned to what we would do to correct her particular problem. The Vet hobbled Wishes, and within an hour of our return home, she was up on her feet and scooting around. She was hobbled for about 4 days, and has been running ever since. Wishes is a full sister to Fancy and we hope to have her in the show ring in Winter 2009.
